HERD REDUCTION SALE
Front Royal Canoe and Indian Hollow Stables has regretfully decided to close the trail-riding business offered at the Raymond R. "Andy" Guest Jr. /Shenandoah River State Park. We would like to thank the many wonderful people that came to our stable and allowed us to show them the beauty of the park. There aren't very many things in life better than experiencing nature from the back of a good horse.
The riding horses we offer for sale are all experienced, reliable trail horses. Most have some experience in the ring but that has not been our primary use for them. We have reduced prices and will consider all offers. Good homes are a must and package deals are available. We will be very honest with any potential buyers about any quirks, but all sales are final.
RIDING HORSES
BARREL HORSE
IMA STREAKIN LADY - 9 year old, 15.2 hand, chestnut, AQHA mare. Runs 1-D/2-D barrels and also runs poles. Has also been to rodeos. Very fast and can really turn. Runs on any type of ground. Not for beginners due to speed. Very light mouth and prefers a soft handed rider. The less you pull, the harder and better she works. Streakin Six bred. Compete on her now and breed her when you are done. $6500.00

ARROW - 11 year old, 14.3 hand bay mare. Arab/Quarter Horse cross. Experienced trail horse. Crosses bridges and creeks, and used to wildlife(deer, turkeys, etc.)Used for 6 seasons in our trail barn. Suitable for a beginner. She does prefer to go with company but a more experienced rider could take her out alone. Easy keeper. PICTURE
SOLD TEXAS PETE - 10 year old, 16 hand TB/App cross. White w/brown ears, elbows, knees and hocks. A few small spots. Pete is a super all around horse. He will trail ride anywhere (over bridges, across water, over logs, etc.) He goes alone or in company and doesn't care if he's in front, in the middle or in the back. You can pony multiple horses off of him and ride him with horses he doesn't know. Pete knows basic dressage (he has a super extended trot!), has jumped small courses, and has been hill topping. He also neck reins. You can give him months off and just go throw the tack on him and ride. He does have an immune- mediated condition in one eye that requires medication when it flares up. Easy keeper. PICTURES
SOLD DOUGIE - 10 year old, 14.2 hand dunn QH gelding. SW branded on shoulder. I don't have his papers. Dougie is a really fun horse. He's a great trail horse who will go anywhere, alone or in company. He's very well broke western. I've never ridden him english, but the people I got him from did some english with him.( He just looks so western I never bothered). He is not really a beginners horse. He's just got a little to much feelin' good spunk sometimes. I think he would propably be a super speed-event horse for a kid with some experience. Easy keeper. PICTURE
DYER'S INSURANCE - aka "Bullwinkle" - 9 year old, 16.3 hand, registered bay TB gelding. This horse is one of the quietest TB's I've seen. He is a beautiful, flat-kneed, 10 + mover. I've done a little bit if flat-work with him and also jumped him over logs and things, and I think he has a lot of talent for both. I havn't done more with him because he is so quiet I've been using him on our guided trail rides. He would be good for a beginner or a more experienced rider who wants to bring him along. He's another one you can give the whole winter off, and tack him up in the spring with no worries. Sound. He was on the track but never raced. PICTURES
SOLD SNEAKERS - 9 year old, 13.2 hand POA gelding. Snowflake chestnut with four socks and a blaze. Mixed blue and brown eyes. Sneakers would be a great first pony. We've used him for 4 years in our trail barn and he's been a favorite. He's big enough for a small adult. In fact, our guides fight over him when we don't have a child to put on him! He will go in the front, middle, back, or by himself. You can also pony off of him. Also, I'm not sure why, but all our other horses love him, even the grouches. He's everyones best friend. He's also a good babysitter for weanlings. English or Western. PICTURE
REX - 10 year old, 16.0 hand, bay TB gelding. Tattoo but no papers. Rex does basic dressage and jumps. He's been hill-topping and will trail ride anywhere. He's a good mover, and goes in a nice frame. Rex has a nice soft mouth and enjoys ring work as much as trail riding. He can get a little hot, so he would not be a good beginners horse. PICTURE
BISCUIT - 18 year old, 15 hand, chestnut QH mare. No papers. This mare is a very special horse. She has worked in our trail barn for 6 years and has taken everyone from terrified adults, to handicaped children. She will go alone or in company, in the front, back or middle. Can be ridden bare-back in a halter and leadrope. If you want something more she can also give you that. She is quick, handy, and BROKE! PICTURE
CASPER - 25 year old, 15.3 hand, mostly white gelding. Casper has worked in our trail barn for 6 years. He is in great shape for his age, sound, and doesn't have any dental problems. He is a super trail horse who will go anywhere. He goes alone or in company. He is very broke and we use him for beginners and kids however, I wouldn't recommend him for a beginner without someone experienced to help them. He is one of the smartest horses I know and he would take advantage! PICTURE
ZIP - 10 year old, 15.1 hand, sorrel QH gelding. He had papers but we don't have them. We have owned Zip since he was a two-year-old. He does it all. He trail rides anywhere, rides english or western, ponies, is beginner safe, and also fun for the more experienced rider. PICTURE
FLEA - 11 year old, flea-bitten grey, 14.1 1/2 H. large pony. Flea has worked in our trail barn for 5 years. He is a great trail horse who will go anywhere alone or in company. Flea has also been hill topped and is jumping 2'6 - 3'0. He would be a super kids pony and would do very well in the show ring. PICTURES
LENA - 9 year old, 15 hand, chestnut appendix TB mare. Trail rides, jumps, fox-hunts first field, and ponies. Goes english or western. Does it all. PICTURES
MY SISTERS DOT - 10 year old, 16 hand, bay TB mare. Registered. Dot has shown and fox-hunted first field. She also trail rides. Needs intermediate rider. PICTURE

SOLD OH HAIL - 11 year old, 16.1 hand, dark bay TB mare. Registered. Haley is a very nice mare. She is a 10 hunter mover with a super disposition. Haley's yearling filly by APHA stallion Bold Invader can be seen below. She has nice athletic babies and would make a geat addition to your brood mare band. ROSIE - 13 year old, 15.3 hand, bay TB mare. Has tattoo but no papers. Rosie is broke but hasn't been ridden in a year. She is a great broodmare for draft crosses. She has big, elegant babies. She had a grey filly this year by a percheron stallion.(Picture below under yearlings) Open for 2006. PICTURE
SKY - 14 year old, 15.3 hand, grey overo mare. No papers. Sky is broke to ride but hasn't been ridden in two years. She has cataracts on both eyes so she is partially blind. SHAMBURY PARK - 9 year old, 16.1 hand, dark bay TB mare. Registered. Has not been ridden in two years but was trail riding quietly before we bred her. Sound W,T,C but probably should not jump due to old ankle injury. This mare is a wonderful cross on drafts. Her babies are refined, with very nice heads and necks. You can see a picture of her two-year-old (Mister Whinny) below. She had a filly this year who is just as nice. $3675.00 PICTURE
TWO-YEAR-OLDS
INDIE - Draft Cross. Dark bay filly with big black spot on hip. Foaled 4/4/04. Indie was imprinted at birth. She leads, loads, ties, picks up feet, etc. Indie is a very good mover and very athletic. Her mom is Sky(see photo above) PICTURE
MISTER WHINNY - TB/Percheron gelding. Bay with no white. Foaled on 3/31/04. Imprinted. Handled daily. Leads, loads, ties, picks up feet, etc. This colt has a super temperment. He is currentlt 16.1H. Should mature close to 17H. Mr.Whinny has had thirty days professional training (just walking, trotting, and being supple) and has been turned back out to grow for the winter. He is probably one of the easiest going two-year-olds I have ever worked with. He has good bone, a very nice head and neck, and is refined for a draft cross. Beautiful mover with natural extensions. I will get new photos soon, as he has changed alot since this picture was taken. PICTURE
YEARLINGS
EMMIE - TB/ Percheron filly. Foaled 5/10/05. Dam is Rosie (pictured above). Dark grey with a crooked blaze and one front sock. Imprinted, handled daily. Friendly, laid back personality. Emmie is big and elegant, with the uphill carriage for dressage. PICTURE
OH HAIL YEAH - Registered APHA filly. Sorrel overo. By APHA stallion Bold Invader. Out of Oh Hail (see photo above). "Jasper" is 5/8 TB. Both parents are 16+ hands so this filly should be good sized. She was imprinted and is handled daily. Very friendly and a pleasure to work with. This filly could be a star. PICTURE
WHISPER - Almost pure white, medicine-hat paint filly. One blue eye, one mixed (looks hazel). Not registered. Imprinted and handled daily. Dam is Sky (pictured above). Whisper has very correct conformation and her mothers stunning movement. She should mature 15.3 - 16.0 hands at least. She has a large cataract on one eye and a small one on the other eye, so I am selling her as broodmare sound only. She should throw color and would be a wonderful sport-horse producer. A good home is a must. $300.00 PICTURE
